A Single Artefactal Drawing I began the semester by delving into my previous semesters work, trawling through the many digital files to trace the development of the design. Inspired by Marco Frascari's 'non-trivial drawing' suggestions (see under WRITING > EXTRACTS) I crafted this collage which traces the evolution of the scheme, and also my own time, as designer, spent upon it.

COLLAPSED TIME DRAWING DEVELOPMENT

Beginning to inhabit with 'caretakers'

Having chosen a section cut through the site that communicated as much as possible in a single drawing the proposed buildings. it became clear that this level of information was lacking in communicating the strucuture of the proposals.

Referring back to my first artefactal drawing, I decided to reintroduce an element of collage so as to incorporate an element of plan to help the viewer understand the scheme within a single drawing.

This further led to the introduction of floating cross sections relating to the plan, as seen here in an early draft.
